No Kings March – What’s Next?
It’s Time to Stop Marching and Start Striking
On Saturday, we went to No Kings Marches. Over 8 million Americans in more than 3,300 events across all 50 states came together to demand an end to the rise of fascism in our country, to I.C.E. attacks, and to war and genocide.
On Sunday, I.C.E. attacks continued, bombs kept falling, and the genocide spread.
WE NEED A PLAN – NOT A MARCH
The Leadership of the No Kings movement has no Plan other than Marches.
They brought us together and gave us a chance to express our anger, frustration, and desire for change. But their major message was “vote for Democrats”. We know that the Democrats are all talk and no action. We know that the Democratic leadership did not stop the major funding of I.C.E., are only putting up weak resistance to the war in Iran, keep sending bombs to Israel, and have done nothing to save our healthcare, housing, education, and the environment.
THERE IS ANOTHER WAY, AND THE PEOPLE OF MINNESOTA HAVE SHOWN US WHAT IT IS – A GENERAL STRIKE
ICE Out Day. On Friday, January 23, over 50 thousand Minnesotans stopped work and went into the streets to fight ICE terror. It was “no business as usual”. Just think, 8 million people on a Saturday is an event with a profound moral impact that can be ignored by the government and corporations. But, if the same 8 million people came out on a Wednesday, if we stopped work, left school, and stopped online shopping, it would be a political and economic statement that cannot be ignored.
General Strikes are a powerful tool used in the International fight for Peace and justice.
On October 3, 2025, the Italian people participated in a national strike for Palestine. Over two million workers joined and paralyzed transport and commerce throughout Italy. British workers have also engaged in strike actions aimed at pressuring both their government and corporate targets.
The No Kings March showed us that small separate streams of resistance are growing community by community and slowly merging into a national force.
NOW IS THE TIME TO ORGANIZE A NATIONAL GENERAL STRIKE FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE!
WE CANNOT STOP FASCISM AND WAR WITH TALK.
