May Day 2026: Demand Extraordinary Leadership!

May Day 2026:

Extraordinary Times Demand Extraordinary Leaders

The U.S. and Israeli attacks on countries in the Middle East are threatening to bring world war, depression, and climate disaster. It is part of Trump’s effort to bully the world into submission to the rule of billionaires, the 1% who own the collective wealth created by the 99 percent, those who must work to live. The Middle East wars are a class war between the 1% and the 99%, the capitalist class and the working class.

Only a united working class can stop the wars and create a just peace. Preventing working-class unity is the prime goal of the capitalist class, who live by owning the social wealth used to make all the things we need to live.

Working-Class Unity is essential internationally. The working class includes all of us who must find work to live, as well as all of us who are denied work. This unity is necessary to stop the wars and to bring about peace. If the U.S. working class came together in support of Palestinian freedom in Gaza and the West Bank, the U.S./Israeli alliance would break, and a path to peace would open. The Democratic Party does not work for this because it serves the capitalist class, just as the Republican Party does.

The working class needs leaders who care about their class rather than serving themselves. Leaders of the “No Kings Day” organized three national days of protest, yet have no plans for growing the power of the working-class other than voting for Democrats. But Democrats work for the capitalist class, who are committed to keeping the working class fragmented and unorganized.

The “No Kings Day” leadership often tried to keep “Free Palestine” signs out of the No Kings marches. This shows they are working for the capitalist class who own the wealth, who profit from war, and who support Israel.

Trump threatened to bomb Iran’s life-supporting infrastructure if the country didn’t do what he said.1 Israel is already doing this in Gaza, Lebanon, and the West Bank. By making this threat, Trump is pushing his brand of fascist terror into national and global politics. Democratic Party leaders failed to call this out, simply saying that Trump is a “sick person.”2

Focusing on Trump the person does little to stop the growing danger of consolidated fascism. To stop fascism, the working-class needs independent organizations to fight for its program to eliminate ICE; create jobs; make food, housing, medical care, transportation, and education affordable; and to clean up the environment. To make this happen, the working class must focus on cultivating leaders who can build effective organizations and lead them.

Jesus of Nazareth gave his life for humanity and the vision for a “Kingdom of Heaven.” The working-class needs leaders of this type, those who are fully committed to “all for one and one for all.Everything for everybody!

21st-century technology presents the immediate possibility of a world where everyone has what they need, including peace and justice. The capitalist class thinks this is a pipe dream because humankind is like them – greedy, evil, competitive, and out for themselves. That given the chance, the working-class will turn on each other and fight among themselves, rather than for themselves.

But human beings are kind, compassionate, giving, and cooperative. The people of Minneapolis and Americans all over the country are united in defense of their immigrant brothers and sisters and their children. The people of Gaza have not been defeated, even in the face of an ongoing genocide.

2026 IS A YEAR FOR THE WORKING CLASS TO UNITE!

MAY DAY 2026 IS THE TIME TO CHANGE THE WORLD, TO FREE OURSELVES FROM THE BONDAGE OF CLASS RULE OF THE capitalists!

NOW IS THE TIME TO CREATE A JUST, PEACEFUL, AND COOPERATIVE WORLD.
