The Capitalists or the Workers?

Working Class Democracy. Dr. Martin Luther King called Working Class Democracy “economic” democracy. A system where everyone had the right to water, food, clothing, housing, health care, education, etc. To a life with peace and justice.

Capitalist Democracy. Under Capitalism, “Democracy” is reduced to the capitalists letting us decide which of their leaders is going to mislead the country for another four years.

For us to enjoy the fruits of Working Class Democracy, the average person would have to have control over the tools of democracy: television, print, radio, internet, etc. But the only folks who have that real access are the billionaires and multi-millionaires.

The capitalist class will never allow the working class to vote in real change and abolish their system through the electoral process. This is a reality that must be learned. To make a blanket statement about voting without folks going through a process of education is meaningless.

We need to exhaust all legal means at our disposal until they take the vote away. We know all the tricks being used right now to prevent folks who want to vote from doing so.

Working people have fought and died for the Right to Vote. The right for citizens to vote was a reform granted during the expansion of the capitalist system. It is always better for a ruling class to rule with the consent of the ruled. Now that reform is being taken away, the velvet glove becomes the iron fist.

Resorting to Fascism and force is a sign of weakness of the Capitalist Class. Now that capitalism is contracting and imploding, there are no reforms left or needed. Reforms were granted in the past to maintain a section of the working class as loyal supporters of imperialist plunder abroad and inequality at home.

With Robots, Computers, and AI decimating the job market every day, they need fewer workers. This is creating a surplus of workers unable to find work. The capitalist will not continue to support a NOT working, working class.

We need only to look to Palestine, Iran, and Lebanon to see how they deal with surplus humanity. Capitalism is a system that values money over human life, where slaughtering human beings is more profitable than slaughtering cattle.

The working class must have its own voice to build a world where wealth is publicly controlled and divided equally among the peoples of the world, where war, genocide, and ecocide are relics of the past. We are the majority, and we can choose our future. We must do this before fascism takes hold and tries to silence our voice. Fascism is the last desperate gasp of the ruling class’s effort to control us and our country. We can fight and win…but we have to learn to fight smart with aggressive class politics.
