We Need Winning Strategy Now!

Senator Bernie Sanders and Congressperson Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) took their “Fight Oligarchy” tour on a three-day swing through Nevada, Colorado and Arizona on March 20. They were greeted by tremendous enthusiasm from 86 thousand supporters, including 34,000 in Denver.¹

Democracy

People understand that what’s left of our democracy is being destroyed by Trump, Musk and the ruling class. That their plan to cut Social Security and Medicaid will hurt all of us. That by failing to raise the federal minimum wage and to stop the rising cost of living, they are bankrupting the working class.

Working Class

Working people turned out to hear plans and to feel hope for changing the country’s direction. How do we win political power in a country of 340 million?

Sanders and AOC point out that the President turned his back on the working class. What do they want to do about it? They want working class candidates to run for political office as independent candidates, not as Democrats.² We agree, but it doesn’t go far enough.

Third Party

In this country the electoral process is rigged in favor of the two major parties. The working class can win by gathering strength by rallying its forces outside the electoral process, by marches and rallies around causes that unite our class across the lines of race, gender and nationality.

The working-class is the overwhelming majority of our country. The mission of the Democratic Party is to keep the working class out of power. Stop it from seizing power from the billionaires who own the farms, factories and banks.

A party of the working class will win to the extent that it is based in the actual interests of the class for jobs, peace, healthcare, and unpolluted air, water and land. Sanders and AOC talk about these things, however the working class needs a political party determined and capable of making it happen.

Time is running out, we need action, not just talk! Let’s march!
