Our Declaration of Independence

We hold these truths to be self-evident,

That all people are created equal,

That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among people, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

That whenever any form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, that will ensure Peace, Justice and Equality.

That Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes. But after a long train of abuses and usurpations designed to produce an absolute Despotism, it is the peoples’ right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to develop a new path for their future.

The history of the U.S. Government is one of repeated violations of human rights. All aimed at protecting private property and ensuring that the Capitalist class gets richer off the labor and suffering of working people.

Founded on Slavery and Genocide

The U.S. Government has used its power to protect and expand the exploitation of the American people and the people of the world.

From the ethnic cleansing of Native Peoples, to ICE terror, to genocide in Gaza, the U.S. has used its military and police to suppress and terrorize.

From Jim Crow laws, to elimination of abortion rights, to the denial of free speech and gender rights, the U.S. Government has used its courts to attack basic rights.

From elimination of Medicare and Medicaid, to destruction of Social Security and education, to environmental rape, to starvation in Africa, the U.S. Government has used Republicans and Democrats to ensure the transfer of wealth from the working class to the Capitalists.

The American people have opposed every attack on human and environmental rights. We have won some small battles such as the elimination of open Jim Crow laws and securing the right to an abortion, only to lose these gains under the continuing attack of the Capitalist state.

Enough is enough.

On the 249^th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence from the British Crown, we declare that the American people are free and independent from the Capitalist lead U.S. government and state.

The question is “how to win political power?”

“Our country and the world stand at a crossroads. Humanity has the potential for economic security and abundance. A community of the people, by the people, and for the people, where children can grow in peace, is possible as never before. Or–if we do nothing—we face increasingly unlivable conditions caused by private ownership of the wealth that human labor has created.”¹
