No one has to tell us that there is something wrong in this country.

We see that every time we need food, healthcare or housing or worry about our children’s future.

It is getting to the point where we cannot afford to live.

Will not end the AFFORDABILITY CRISIS

Why is there an AFFORDABILITY CRISIS in the richest country in the world? Because an economy where only the rich get paid is doomed to collapse. In the past 50 years, the richest 1% increased their share of income from 10 percent to 21 percent, while the rest of us got smaller pieces of the income pie.¹ Wealth is piling up on one side, poverty on the other. This causes the economy to stagnate.

Last June Trump announced his intention to throw tax dollars into this mad rush for wealth. He ordered the federal government to purchase controlling shares in U.S. Steel and computer chip maker Intel.² “By the middle of October, the administration had claimed a 15 percent stake in MP Materials, a 10 percent stake in Lithium Americas Corporation, and a 10 percent stake in Trilogy Metals,” falsely claiming that these moves “prioritize economic growth and national security.”³

What is really going on is that Trump is cementing the ties that bind the government in service to the wealthiest 1%. This is part of the plan for fascism. Government is no longer about providing food assistance, public health, support for retirees and medical insurance.

Fascism is always about a plan to make profit. The goal is to completely privatize the government and remove it from public control. The entire federal bureaucracy is being refitted to prop up the wealth of the 1%, similar to Obama’s move to bail out the banks rather than the homeowners when the 2007-09 financial meltdown happened.⁴

The only way to end the AFFORDABILITY CRISIS is to defeat fascism and end capitalism. We cannot rely on the Democrats or the Republicans, we have to rely on ourselves.

We are the working class, the 99% who must sell our capacity to work in order to live. We are at war with the 1% of the population, the capitalist class – the people who own AI, the media, factories, banks, etc. The fight is between those of us who supply the collective labor that produces wealth and the private owners who steal that wealth.

The 99% must have their own political party that can lead a revolution and build a world based on cooperation, where everyone has what they need and looks out for each other. If we join together to fight for the common good, we have a beautiful world to win.

“Our country and the world stand at a crossroads. Humanity has the potential for economic security and abundance. A community of the people, by the people, and for the people, where children can grow in peace, is possible as never before. Or–if we do nothing—we face increasingly unlivable conditions caused by private ownership of the wealth that human labor has created.”⁵
