The only way to get Free, Universal Healthcare is to end Private Property and the for-Profit System it Supports.
When Luigi Mangione gunned down Brian Thompson, three bullet casing inscribed with the words delay, deny, defend were found at the scene of the shooting. Thompson was CEO of United Healthcare insurance a company that made $281 billion last year by delaying payment of claims, denying valid claims and by defending their actions in court.
What Delay, Deny and Defend means to Americans.
Millions of Americans suffer when a loved one is ill because insurance companies delay and deny paying for necessary health care, and then get away with it because most of us are too poor to fight them in court. Half a million American families go bankrupt each year from medical debt and many have to use GoFundMe to pay for medical treatment.3 Privatized health care is a major reason people wind up homeless.

We are All in this Together.
News of the murder stimulated a hail of Internet posts recounting peoples’ trauma and health setbacks caused by denial of healthcare claims.2 The U.S. is the only major country in the world that provides healthcare through profit seeking mechanisms, pitting peoples’ health against the bottom line of insurance companies, and where 27 million lack any health insurance whatsoever.4
We need a Change, but killing Thompson is not the way to do it.
Brian Thompson did not own United Healthcare, he only worked for it. He was paid over $10 million a year to make money for the company and delay, deny and defend was the way in which he maximized profits. Brian Thompson will be replaced and the pain and suffering caused by United Healthcare and all of the other insurance companies will continue.
We need to Kill the System, not the People who Work for it.
This tragedy and the related discussion about health care illuminates the common interest among those who must work for a living, the working-class. The fight for affordable health care unites the working-class around its vital self-interest. We, the working-class, are the overwhelming majority and our unity is the foundation for winning health care and growing our political power.
The only way to get free, universal healthcare is to end private property and the for-profit system it supports.
We can do it! We must do it!
Let’s talk.
