Betrays the American People

On October 1, the Democratic party shut down the U.S. government. They said their goal was to prevent increases in the price of healthcare insurance covered by the Affordable Care Act, or Obama Care. What about those not covered by Obama Care?

The Democrats do not have a plan to improve our healthcare, did not want to make it cheaper, and did not want to make it available to everyone. The Democratic party was fighting to keep things as they are.

The American people cannot afford to “keep things are they are”.

We are living in revolutionary times. Artificial Intelligence AI, has changed the world. Trump and Project 2025 have changed America. We cannot go back to the old system, we cannot reform the government – we must go forward.

We are moving forward. On October 18, seven million Americans said NO to fascism at the No Kings Day demonstrations. On November 4, US voters said NO the Republican party and its support of Trump’s drive towards fascism. Every day, in the streets of our country, American working people are standing up with their immigrant brothers and sisters saying NO to I.C.E. thugs, police and soldiers.

On November 10, the leadership of the Democratic party said YES to funding the fascist assault on the American people. Working through a group of 8 senators who will not face the voters next year, the Democratic Party’s leadership abandoned the fight for affordable healthcare. The government will reopen and the attack on our rights and lives will continue.

Chuck Schumer, the Senate Minority Leader, told us that he voted “no” on the deal and that he had no idea what the 8 rouge senators were up to. This is the same Chuck Schumer who refused to support Mamdani for mayor of New York City. Do not let Chuck Schumer and his cohorts fool you. This was not the isolated work of 8 senators who turned on the American people. This could not happen without support from the Democratic party’s leadership.¹

Schumer summarized the Democratic party’s position when he announced that “Republicans now own this health care crisis. They knew it was coming. We wanted to fix it. Republicans said no. And now it’s on them.”²

No Chuck, both the Democrats and the Republicans own the health care crisis, while we are the ones paying the price for your cooperation in the fascist attack on our lives, our rights and our country.

We should not be surprised by the Democratic party’s surrender. While the media paints the Democrats as the Good Cops and the Republican Party the Bad Cops, they are both cops. The Republican and Democrats may differ on how to ensure that the rich 1% keep getting richer, but their goals are the same – protect private property and the exploitation of working people. They both work for the Capitalist class against the interests of the working class.

The Democratic party chose to fight to keep Affordable Care Act subsidies because they know that we cannot afford health care. We need the ACA subsidies, but providing a few dollars to partially pay for health insurance is not enough.

WHAT WE REALLY NEED IS FREE, UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE.

The Democratic Party will not fight for this!

We must have our own political party. A party by and for the working class, the majority of us who must sell our ability to work in order to live. A working class party that can lead a revolution and build a world based on cooperation, where everyone has what they need and looks out for each other. If we join together to fight for the common good, we have a beautiful world to win.

We can do this. We must do this.
