Stop the Violence Against Women

The Revolution Starts Now

Details about the gang rape at Cornell University are evoking terrible memories among women everywhere.¹ This is not surprising news from a country where one in five women experiences sexual violence.² This prevalence exposes the simple fact that the capitalist state has never protected women from sexual predation.

The oppression of women began with the formation of private property. Before private property, people lived in small egalitarian communities where survival was extremely challenging and dependent upon motherhood and child survival.³  This cooperative society was overthrown by the development of agriculture and private property. The new system was protected through the creation of a political state.4 For the most part, men gained control over agricultural wealth and established patriarchy to enslave their families. Today, after 5,000 years of written history, men still control the lion’s share of private property, and a capitalist state protects that ownership. The oppression of women in the household is perpetuated by a bourgeois social order that worships wealth at the expense of human dignity.

History is on the march! We all know that Capitalism is no longer working.

AI and AI-powered robotics are changing the production and distribution of food, clothing, and all the other items we use in our lives. We are heading towards a time when there will be no need to employ human labor in routine, repetitive work. If there are no jobs, the working class, who must work to live, will face starvation, homelessness, and disease in the midst of billionaires and trillionaires who cannot spend all of their stolen wealth.

The old system is dead. We cannot and will not return to a system where the needs of capitalists determine our lives.

We must move toward a new reality, Share-and-Share-Alike Socialism: from each according to their ability, to each according to their needs.

This is not a new idea. It comes from who we really are, from several hundred thousand years before written history. We care for each other; we come to the aid of the poor, the sick, and victims of natural disasters. We work for a better life for our children. We stand up to defend our neighbors attacked by ICE, and fight to end the death, destruction, starvation, and pain inflicted by our government.

Share-and-Share-Alike Socialism is what humankind is built for and what we need to live a full, peaceful, and happy life.

How would this work?

Under Share-and-Share-Alike Socialism, we will end the private control of the world’s wealth. The people of the world will own AI, media, factories, banks, etc., and use them for the benefit of all. These are the social conditions for equality of the sexes and the elimination of predatory violence once and for all.
