Ceasefire in Iran
But the main War continues
While the bombs have stopped dropping on Iran, the fight for peace and justice continues. The worldwide struggle against private property, fascism, and war is growing. The working people of the world are at war with the capitalist class.
When Trump announced a two-week delay to his promised genocidal attack on Iran, the world exhaled. The threat of an escalating regional war growing into a world war seemed to fade. Perhaps everything will return to “normal”, oil will move through the Striate of Hormuz, and the world’s economies will not collapse.
But the world cannot go back to the “old normal”. AI and electronic/robotic production are changing the way the world works and is forcing changes in the economic systems and the governments that serve these systems.
The US/Israeli war on Iran is not about oil. It’s about the idea that wealth created by the oil can be owned by the people of Iran and not by a small elite.
The public ownership of Iran’s oil threatens the very core of capitalism – private property. Capitalism is a societal relationship between the working class, the 99%, who must sell their capacity to work in order to live, and the capitalist class, the 1%, who own AI, the media, factories, banks, mines, oil wells. The US government works for the 1% and protects their interests.
The US/Israeli war on Iran is all about private property. It is part of a larger war that will decide the world’s future. We, the working people of the world, are at war with the capitalist class. It is a fight between those of us who supply the collective labor that produces wealth and the private owners who steal that wealth.
We are fighting against fascism and war and for Working Class democracy where the wealth of our planet is used to provide everyone with what they need to live a healthy and productive life, a just and peaceful world based on cooperation.
The American people, the Iranian people, the Palestinian people, the people of Lebanon, Venezuela, Cuba, and working people all over the world are fighting for the same future. Our time is coming!
We can do this; We must do this.
