“Never Again” applies to Everybody

“Rev. Jesse Jackson, a civil rights champion, died early Tuesday at the age of 84 after a long illness. Most mainstream media obits will tell you he ran twice for the White House and was a senior aide to Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. What they won’t tell you about is his remarkable activism on Palestine at a time when the Palestinians had few friends in Washington, D.C.”¹ (James Zogby, president of the Arab American Institute)

James Zogby is right, the media and the leadership of the Democratic Party are totally ignoring Rev. Jackson’s fight for justice for the Palestinian people. Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer called Jesse Jackson “an icon of the civil rights movement,”² and representative Hakeem Jeffries said that Rev. Jackson was “a legendary voice for the voiceless, a powerful civil rights champion.”³ Not a single word about Gaza or Palestine.

Rev. Jackson, the Democratic Party, and Free Palestine. Rev. Jackson competed for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in 1984 and 1988. In his campaign, Rev. Jackson championed “mutual recognition, territorial compromise, and self-determination for both Israelis and Palestinians.” Rev. Jackson challenged the pro-Zionist foreign policy of the Democratic Party.¹ However, almost 40 years later, the leadership of the Democratic Party does not fight for Palestinian rights, funds the Israeli genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, and supports the suppression of pro-Palestinian voices.

It was Rev. Jackson, not the Democratic Party, who showed that the demand “Never again” is not just about the Holocaust, it is a call to end all genocide. He connected the slaughter of the Jewish people in Nazi Germany with the murder of Palestinian people in Gaza, with the ethnic cleansing and genocide of Native Americans, and with slavery. He also showed that the underlying cause was fascist ideology.¹

The Revolutionary News Today Collective recognizes that the world lost a heroic and important warrior for justice and equality. We celebrate Rev. Jackson’s contributions to a just and peaceful world and are dedicated to the fight for peace, justice, and a better life for all.

The Revolutionary News Today Collective: Our Goal

We are living in revolutionary times. AI has changed the world. Trump and Project 2025 have changed America. We cannot go back to the old system, we cannot reform the government – we must go forward.

We are the working class, the 99% who must sell our capacity to work in order to live. We are at war with the 1% of the population, the capitalist class – the people who own AI, the media, factories, banks, etc. The fight is between those of us who supply the collective labor that produces wealth and the private owners who steal that wealth.

The goal of the RNT Collective is to present the voices of the 99%. We expose capitalism for what it is today – a road to the destruction of Nature and human society.

Today, the American people are engaged in many separate battles that all have the same goal – a peaceful and just world. The key question is how do we Unite to Fight and Win Political Power?

The RNT provides a forum for discussion of how to take the Offensive?

How can we fight and win? How do we address the strategic issues we face?
